Laura Van Roekel
LMHC
Laura Van Roekel is a licensed mental health clinician. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Counseling—with an emphasis in Addiction, Chemical Dependency, and Substance Abuse—from Grand Canyon University, and her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa.
Laura is passionate about creating a therapeutic space where clients experience the freedom to process in the way they need. She believes every person deserves to be heard, reminded of their inherent worth, and supported through adversity so they can move toward a fuller, more thriving life. Grounded in her faith, Laura believes God designed us for connection, and she views therapy as a unique place where individuals can safely work through vulnerabilities in a non-judgmental, compassionate environment.
She works primarily with teenagers and adults across the lifespan, focusing on trauma and sexual assault history, depression, identity and purpose, relationship concerns, and anxiety. Laura has experience working with college students in a university setting and is trained in EMDR. She considers it an honor to walk alongside clients—no matter who they are or where they find themselves—because she wholeheartedly believes that every story matters.
Outside the therapy room, Laura believes the perfect Saturday includes a latte, a donut, a stroll through the farmer’s market, baking, and soaking up as much time outdoors as possible with her two daughters and husband. She splits her time as a part-time therapist, stay-at-home mom, and Kids Ministry director—and she is excited to meet you!
