EMDR
What Is EMDR, and Is It Compatible With My Christian Faith?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an extensively researched, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer hold the same emotional charge. Rather than reliving the pain, EMDR helps your brain move what’s “stuck” toward a place of resolution and peace.
From a Christian perspective, EMDR is deeply compatible with faith. God designed your brain with a remarkable capacity for healing — EMDR activates that God-given neurological process. CPT
I Have PTSD From Trauma — What Is Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Can It Help Me?
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a gold-standard treatment specifically designed for post-traumatic stress disorder. It helps you identify and challenge the “stuck points” — the false beliefs trauma implanted in your mind, such as “It was my fault,” “I’ll never be safe,” or “I’m damaged beyond repair.”
These lies directly contradict what God says about you. CPT gives you the clinical framework to dismantle distorted thinking and replace it with truth — both psychological and biblical. When we take every thought captive and examine it against reality and Scripture, the chains of PTSD begin to break. Healing does not erase your past, but it frees you from being controlled by it.

SOMATIC THERAPY
Why Does My Therapist Ask About What I Feel in My Body?
Somatic (body-based) therapy recognizes that trauma, stress, and unresolved emotion are stored not only in the mind but in the physical body. Chronic tension, racing heartbeat, shallow breathing, and unexplained pain often have roots in emotional experiences the body has not yet released.
Scripture has always understood this connection. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and God cares about what happens within it. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most widely researched and effective forms of therapy in the world. It works by identifying distorted thought patterns — catastrophizing, all-or-nothing thinking, personalizing — and replacing them with accurate, balanced thoughts that reflect reality.
For Christians, CBT is a natural extension of what Scripture has always taught. Paul instructs us to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” and to “take every thought captive.” CBT provides the practical, clinical framework to do exactly that. I’ve Been Told I Need DBT — What Is It, and Can It Work Alongside My Faith?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches four essential skills: distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. IFS
I’ve Heard About “Parts Work” in Therapy — Does That Conflict With Biblical Teaching?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful therapeutic model that helps you understand the different emotional parts within you — the anxious part, the protective part, the wounded part that carries old pain. IFS helps you access your core self and lead from a place of calm, clarity, and compassion.
This does not conflict with Scripture. Even the Apostle Paul described inner conflict: “I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing.” IFS helps you understand why you do what you do, and brings every part of yourself under the lordship of Christ. What Makes Synergetic Play Therapy Different From Regular Play Therapy?
Synergetic Play Therapy takes play therapy further by focusing specifically on the nervous system and the therapeutic relationship itself as the vehicle for healing. The therapist uses their own regulated presence to help the child’s nervous system learn to co-regulate — moving from fight, flight, or freeze into calm and connection.
This mirrors the way God designed us for relationship. We were never meant to regulate alone.
