MA, LMHC, RPT
Stephana Patterson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist dedicated to serving children, adolescents, and families in West Des Moines. Her practice is deeply rooted in her devotion to Christ, combining over years of clinical experience and a passion for helping families discover the healing, wholeness, and hope found in God’s design for restoration.
Specializing in child and adolescent therapy, Stephana integrates evidence-based modalities—including EMDR, Play Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)—with Biblical principles. Whether working with a child through Sandtray therapy or helping a teen navigate anxiety, her goal is to provide a nurturing environment where the Holy Spirit can bring peace and clarity to difficult emotions.
Stephana’s approach to family counseling is centered on God’s design for relationships. She believes that a parent’s role is vital to a child's healing, and she works closely with caregivers to foster secure attachments and healthy communication based on Christian values. Her work is a direct extension of her desire to love and serve God by caring for those navigating trauma, grief, and emotional challenges.
A graduate of Liberty University with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Stephana is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa and an EMDR Certified therapist. She has been married to her husband, Brandon, for 23 years and is a proud mother of two college-aged children. Her life and practice are defined by the belief that through faith-centered, compassionate care, every family can experience the lasting growth and restoration promised by God.
