Chelsea Peterson
T-LMHC
Chelsea Peterson is a temporary licensed mental health counselor dedicated to walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, heal from past wounds, and discover their inherent worth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand View University.
In her practice, Chelsea blends evidence-based psychological frameworks with a deeply rooted Christian, biblical worldview. She utilizes a mixed approach tailored to each individual's unique needs, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Play Therapy techniques. She specializes in working with both children and adults, with a particular focus on supporting those navigating:
Neurodivergent conditions (such as ADHD and Autism)
Trauma and healing
Anxiety and stress management
Self-esteem and identity issues
Chelsea believes that true healing addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. By combining clinical expertise with scriptural truth, she strives to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients of all ages feel deeply heard, valued, and empowered
to grow.
When she is not in the therapy room, Chelsea loves spending quality time with her husband and staying actively involved in their local church community. She enjoys anything arts and crafts, regular workouts to stay energized, and traveling to explore new places.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
