Laurie Clair, PA - C

Laurie Clair is a licensed Physician Assistant with a decade of providing psychiatric care, including diagnostic evaluations and medication management.  As a member of the Iowa Physician Assistant Society, she was elected by her peers to serve as President, on the Legislative Committee and the Board of Directors.  She’s certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and holds licenses in both Iowa and Minnesota.

 

She has vast experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and has been instrumental in initiating the psychiatric urgent care model in Central Iowa.  She was also an integral voice in the establishment of a Crisis Observation Center, with a mission to provide stability and care management for those at risk, but unable to be hospitalized.   Laurie also believes strongly in education, thus is a clinical preceptor with a special emphasis in psychiatry for PA programs around the state of Iowa.  She serves as a  national key note speaker/educator about the diagnosis and proper management of Bipolar disorder, educating her peers around the US. 

 

In her personal time she enjoys traveling, cooking and fellowship with friends and colleagues.

Lanesa Bhattacharyya RN, BSN

Lanesa is a Registered Nurse with over 18 years of professional experience. 

 

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration. Interested in the business and administrative side of healthcare, she further advanced her education at Drake University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in healthcare. She graduated with membership in the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society.  

 

She has worked in many areas of nursing, including Acute Care, Long Term Care and Hospice. During her considerable professional experience in the medical field, she has cared for individuals with varying mental health needs. 

 

For the past 8 years, prior to coming to Heartland, she had been a full-time faculty member in the Health and Public Service department at Des Moines Area Community College. 

 

Lanesa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and dining at new restaurants.
