About Laura
Laura Van Roekel is a licensed mental health clinician. She received her
Bachelor of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Addiction,
Chemical dependency, and Substance Abuse from Grand Canyon
University and received her Master of Arts in counseling from the
University of Northern Iowa.
She is passionate about creating freedom in the therapy space to process
in the way that you need because everyone deserves to be heard,
reminded who they are, and supported through adversities to reach a new
level of thriving. Laura believes that God calls us to not live life alone and
she believes therapy provides a unique environment to connect and work
through vulnerabilities in a safe and non-judgmental space. Laura works
primarily with teenagers through the lifespan with trauma and sexual
assault history, depression, struggles with finding your purpose,
relationship concerns, and anxiety. She has experience working with
college students in a university setting and is trained in EMDR. Laura is
honored to be a part of your journey, no matter who you are or where you
are at, because she whole-heartedly believes that your story matters.
Laura strongly thinks that a successful Saturday should include a latte,
donut, walk around the farmer’s market, baking, and as much time outside
as possible with her two daughters and husband. Laura splits her time as
a part-time therapist, stay-at-home mom, and Kids Ministry director, and
she is excited to meet you!
