About Jen
Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Art Therapist. She earned her BA in Psychology from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO and earned graduate coursework in Education at the University of New England in Portland, ME. Jennifer earned her Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, IN. Jennifer has worked in the fields of education and mental health with children, adults, and older adults. She has held professional roles including an educator, non-profit art education coordinator, psychiatric technician, independent living group facilitator, BHIS provider, and art therapist/mental health counselor. Jennifer embraces a Person-Centered, Positive Psychology perspective and utilizes Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approaches. She believes that all individuals hold strengths that can help in living meaningful and fulfilling lives; and that art therapy empowers self-expression, even when there are no words for what individuals have experienced.
Jennifer enjoys her farm, gardening, creating art, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
